I think the fine folks at Runner's World are on to me. They know I don't want to be running right now. I got two emails from them today.
The first was a quote that read, "Have a dream. Make a plan. Go for it. You'll get there, I promise." -Zoe Koplowitz, marathon runner who is afflicted with multiple sclerosis and diabetes
The second contained this article, which talks about remembering why you started running in the first place and focusing on the positives of running, like feeling your body move. Oh yes. That's why I started running.
So, at least for tonight, I've found a fool proof way to make sure I run five miles: At the end of it will be my parents' house, and there will be dinner on the table. That's tough to say no to. :)

Oh no, you have other stalkers? We run for those who can't. We are fundraisers trying to make the world a better place one race at a time! Ummm...and so we can eat what we want...lol! Destressing...3 thumbs up for that one :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great run and an awesome dinner!!!
OMG...I can't believe I forgot to add "the bling"!!! And they didn't mention it in the article either, what's up with that?
ReplyDeleteYou're gonna need another race after Indy so think about September. They have a 5K (much less stressful training) called Kilometers for Cam in St. Joseph, MI. He has Progeria & it is a fundraiser for that. I have done this race every year & will until I can't. He's been on the news several times so you might have seen him.
Enjoyed having dinner with you this evening, even though it was a quick, thrown together dinner. Looking forward to dinner Saturday. :)
