The year in review (and getting so excited about what's to come!)

I truly can't believe 2014 is coming to a close. When the year started, I knew it was going to a hectic, amazing, frantic, incredible year. And it didn't disappoint (not in the slightest!). 

I love taking time at the end of each year to reflect and look ahead. For me, it's so important to spend time thinking about where I've been and where I'm going. It's cathartic, almost. And it also reminds me that what I tend to focus on are all of the great things that happened throughout the year as I forget all the negative things. That's just a good life lesson, I think, to remind ourselves that what matters are the great moments. 

So what did I love about 2014? 

Family life: We got married!

I love replaying that day over and over in my head. There's not one thing I would change about our wedding day. We had perfect weather, we were surrounded by our family and friends, and I got to promise to spend my life with the best man I've ever known. By leaps and bounds, the happiest day of my life, and I'm thrilled that we got to have that day this year! 

Professionally: The school newspaper staff is stronger than ever!
I'll be honest when I say I was worried about not finishing this school year with my newspaper staff, but they are doing a FABULOUS job! I know they're going to be in great shape when their new teacher comes in. I've half convinced they won't even notice I'm gone!

Fitness: I had my 5K PR!
My husband pushed me in Sunburst to have my best 5K time ever of 25:47! I was thrilled to break the 26 minute mark. But the BEST part about this is I was very newly pregnant and didn't know it yet! I'd like to think the baby gave my super speed in the race (even though s/he is slowing me down now!)!

Travel: We went to Greece! 

We love traveling! We put in a healthy mix of sight seeing and relaxation, and our honeymoon was no exception. We loved everything about Greece (especially Santorini!), and I really hope we get the chance to go there again someday! 

Favorite Book: Me Before You, JoJo Moyes
This novel absolutely blew me away this year. I still think about it often, and to me, that's the sign of a great novel! I think I'm even planning to re-read it in 2015, which I rarely do!

Added (MAJOR) bonus (!!!): We found out about Baby Putt!!!!!
The greatest gift of all this year was finding out about Baby Putt's impending arrival! We are so incredibly excited to be parents, and we can't wait to find out if Baby P is a he or she! I still can't believe that we are only roughly seven weeks away from meeting our baby! It's all gone so fast! 

There are so many wonderful things coming our way in 2015, and I almost can't wait for it to happen! I'm not one to wish time away... but 2015 might be the best. year. YET!
