Running my life as a busy wife, boy mom, and business owner

It's hard for me to believe that one year ago, I was attempting to fall asleep in a hotel room at Disney World so that I could wake up at 3 a.m. to run 13.1 miles. That race is still one of my favorite life memories, and I can't wait for the chance to run it again in the future.

When I saw my dad at mile 13 :)

I haven't been able to run in two weeks. Between the crappy weather, and my crappier illness, I've had no energy. I got on the elliptical for 40 minutes this morning, and even that was a real struggle. I am so looking forward to the moment where I feel 100% again... or even just feel energetic.

I'm going to attempt to sign up for a few races tomorrow. I'm looking at mostly 5k's and 10k's, but am still thinking about finding something longer. Any good race suggestions?

  2. Running Disney is AWESOME!!! Would love to run there again. I signed up for the Indy Mini. I've never done that one & it was on my "to do" list. There's a Women's Only 1/2 in Indy Labor Day weekend that I really want to do but not sure it will pan out.

Sending hugs & lots of energy to you! And, sending this crappy weather to the Arctic...so done with this (but I was done before it started)~

  3. Thanks, ladies! Sherry, sending me energy must have worked -- today was the first day in two weeks I felt a little energetic!

I too REALLY want to run Disney again! Maybe next year? We'll see! I really liked the Indy Mini last year (it was HOT, though!). The Women's Only half sounds like fun! There's a half in Madison, Wisconsin, in August that I'm contemplating. Luckily I don't have to decide any time soon!

  4. We are doing a 5k in Decatur, IN on April 20th. The Sheriff's department deputies are participating and many of the wives are doing it with the officers. So...maybe you'd want to look into that one!

  5. That sounds like fun! Unfortunately, I have a bridal shower that day! This is one of my problems right now -- I want so much to get races in this spring, but between May and June, I'm in three weddings and have all the showers and parties that go along with them! I'll be a little more flexible come summer. :) Have you ever run the YMCA 5k? I thought that might be a good race to kick off the season!
